Route description
Highway BRUSSEL - LUIK E40. |
When coming from Brussels and driving to Luik on the E40 you pass
the exit nr. 22 to BERTEM (Don't take it unless you are going for site seeing).
Shortly after you have passed this exit nr. 22 to BERTEM there is a splitting
of the highway: you take (right queue) the direction GENK-HASSELT-LEUVEN E314.
Then take the first exit to LEUVEN (exit nr. 15). |
At the (first) traffic lights : straight on to LEUVEN N264. |
At the (next) traffic lights : once again straight on to LEUVEN N264. |
At the (third) traffic lights (point 1 on the included map): take
to the right the direction: R23 N2 DIEST N2 TIENEN N251 NAMEN. |
Follow immediately the left queue, now you are coming onto the ring road around the city. |
Pass the flashing lights indicating danger. |
On the next intersection with traffic lights (only 70 m after the
flashing ligths, there is a FINA gas station) go to the right: this is not a 90
degree angle but take the street that goes most to the right under a 45 degree
angle. This street is called the "Kardinaal Mercierlaan".
Follow the long brick wall on your right and take the second entrance for cars. |
When you enter the park by car, you are stopped by a dark red colored pole in the middle of the road.
Press the button on your left and inform the security desk about your appointment with Prof. Berckmans. |
Because there are a lot of parking problems inside the park, we would like to make the following suggestion:
You can also park your car at the “Kardinaal Mercierlaan”, namely at the arched entrance
(= first entrance for pedestrians) in the long brick wall.
Enter, enjoy your walk through the woods and keep following this path, which leads straight to the
“Agrotechniek & -economie”-building (Kasteelpark Arenberg 30), where you can find the offices of our laboratory.
